The daily texts you get as a member of this tribe are indeed an investment in self. They are meant to remind you to pause and reflect on what the content means for you and your leadership journey. I also hope that you are reading these blogs and spending at least ten minutes on your career and life journal. I believe keeping a journal will change your life and these blogs and texts are meant to help you do so.
Because this little company I started came from my own years of journaling through the journey of self reflection and self management, the last two weeks of content are really the foundation of what we are doing here together each week.
In this blog post, I wanted to share an example of a journal prompt I use to reflect on a behavior I might want to change or grow in and how I use journaling to change small things in my behavior to reach my self management goals.
Daily Boss Up Homework
Start with a Simple Self Reflection Prompt:
What are three positive words to describe me? What is one word that wouldn’t describe me today but that I would like to be a word that describes me in a year from now?
Once you know what you need to work on, list a couple of strategies you could use in your day to make intention efforts towards growing in this area. Choose ONE thing from the list and work on it until it is habit. DO not try to do the whole list.
I am optimistic, transparent and authentic. I would like to be described as intentional and patient.
